Cleaning up: Pinnacle psg's Essex managers revamp local school's garden

Wednesday 19th November

Cleaning and grounds maintenance managers across Pinnacle psg’s contracts in Essex have almost finished revamping a local Clacton school to create a landscaped wildlife area as part of the 2008 Pinnacle psg Management Challenge.

More than 10 Essex-based Pinnacle psg managers are transforming an overgrown, disused piece of land outside the science lab at Colbayns School, Clacton, to provide a wildlife garden with a pond which will then be available to the local community as well as school students.

Tony Dyer, Pinnacle psg’s Contract Manager for Braintree, is currently taking part in the challenge.  “Despite some early setbacks, such as finding a newt population in the area we were originally working on, we’re all set to complete this task by 4 December.  It has been a great experience, and the team have really pulled together to create what will be a great space for the school and wider community.”

Pinnacle psg’s Management Challenge is an innovative leadership development programme aimed to hone the employee’s individual skills in designing, developing and implementing improvement schemes that benefit the communities in which they work. This will be the fourth community project to develop from Pinnacle psg’s innovative leadership development programme. Other successful schemes have included a landscaped community park in Hackney and a sensory garden and community landscaped area in Canning Town.
