Residents bowled over by new green in Castle Point

Thursday 13th March

Castle Point Bowling Club's grounds have had a massive makeover, just in time for the start of the season in April, thanks to the support of Pinnacle psg's local ground maintenance team and Castle Point Council.

Pinnacle psg, one of the leading providers of community solutions to public sector organisations across the UK, managed the laying of the new turf around the edges of the Bowls Club's green. This was then supported with metal reinforcements produced by local metal fabricator Frost & Hayter who assisted with the design and choice of metal to use.

The work was undertaken by Pinnacle psg's ground staff in addition to the contracted work with Castle Point Borough Council to deliver street cleaning and grounds maintenance. Castle Point Bowls Club funded all metal work.

Castle Point Bowling Club's Greens Committee Manager, Mrs Joan Kitchener, said: "Before Pinnacle psg stepped in to offer their support, the Bowling Club's edges were in a state of disrepair and needed extensive maintenance. I would like to express my sincere thanks on behalf of the Club and all those who use it, for the work that Pinnacle psg has done, to repair the green - I am delighted with the outcome of their excellent work."

Alec Spooner, Pinnacle psg's ground maintenance contract manager, said: "I'm thrilled that through this project, local bowlers will now be able to enjoy well-maintained greens for the new season. This is just one of the local improvement projects Pinnacle psg has completed because of our firm commitment to reinvest in the communities in which we work."

Cllr Peter Burch, Castle Point cabinet member with responsibility for Recreation, Parks and Open Spaces, said: "I'm impressed with Pinnacle psg for yet again coming forward to offer their support to the Castle Point Bowling Club. Since Pinnacle psg began working with the Council in June 2006, it has consistently delivered quality services and kept its promise to give back to the local community by regularly undertaking pro bono local improvement projects."
